A Bolivian S.R.L. pays 25% IUE corporate income tax on net taxable profit, due 120 days after fiscal year-end, with the year-end itself staggered by industry, December 31 for commerce, banking, services, and insurance, the bucket most foreign subsidiaries fall into. IVA runs at 13% (effectively closer to 14.94% under the por dentro calculation method), filed monthly via Formulario 200 through SIAT and staggered by the last digit of the taxpayer's NIT. Mandatory electronic invoicing has been phasing in across SIN's 10 taxpayer groups, with every remaining group required to issue exclusively through an approved online modality from October 1, 2026. Bookkeeping runs through the Código de Comercio's mandatory Diario, Mayor, and Inventarios y Balances books, formally rubricados and retained at least 5 years. Related-party transactions with a foreign parent need documentation regardless of volume, with a formal Form 601 filing plus a full Transfer Pricing Study once annual related-party transactions reach Bs 15,000,000, and remittances to the parent (dividends, interest, royalties, services) carry IUE-BE withholding at an effective 12.5%.

Transfer pricing documentation required for any related-party transaction regardless of volume, with a formal Form 601 filing plus a full Transfer Pricing Study (EPT) triggered once annual related-party transactions reach Bs 15,000,000
IUE-BE withholding on remittances to the foreign parent (dividends, interest, royalties, services from abroad), an effective rate of 12.5%, reduced to 1.5% for activities partially performed in Bolivia
The 3% Impuesto a las Transacciones applies to gross income from commercial activity, separate from and in addition to the 25% IUE profit tax. IUE paid can be credited against IT through the compensación IUE-IT mechanism, but foreign parents commonly arrive expecting a single income tax and are caught off guard by the second one.
Bolivia floated the boliviano in June 2026 after roughly 15 years pegged, a shift of about 40%. Revaluing foreign-currency payables to the parent, loan balances, and IUE-BE remittance calculations mid-fiscal-year needs active attention, not a wait-and-see approach.
Remaining taxpayer groups must issue fiscal documents exclusively through an approved online modality starting October 1, 2026. Non-compliant invoices risk being disallowed as IVA credit or IUE expense, making this a live deadline to plan around now, not later.
